Swan Global Investments, a Durango, Colorado-based independent advisory firm, raised $23m in funding from FTV Capital.
In conjunction with the investment, Richard Garman, a managing partner of FTV Capital, joined Swan’s board.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its product line by increasing its research and development, and operations, including customer support and distribution of its products.
Formed in 1997 and led by Randy Swan, CEO, Swan Global Investments is an independent advisory firm with $1.9 billion in assets under management that offers a proprietary strategy designed to hedge against large stock market declines. The Defined Risk Strategy is an actively managed, hedged equity, rules-based process available in mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and as an overlay to customize existing equity portfolios.
The firm has affiliated offices in Tampa and Puerto Rico.
