Tim Stanley has joined San Mateo, CA-based venture capital firm Sierra Ventures as a Partner.
Stanley will work with the entrepreneurs, investors, and the strategic partners that make up the Sierra Advisory Network advancing programs like the Sierra CIO Summit and Strategic Advisory Board, and leading new initiatives as part of the Sierra Ascend program.
Prior to joining the firm, Stanley was founder and CEO of Tekexecs, and SVP of Enterprise Strategy & Industry Solutions at Salesforce.com.
Founded in 1982 and led by Tim Guleri, Managing Director, Sierra Ventures invests in early-stage emerging technologies and innovative business solutions. It has backed companies including Intuit, Healtheon, Active Software, Micromuse and Teradata. Exits include the IPOs of InvenSense, Sourcefire, AuthenTec, and the acquisitions of Ooyala (by Telstra), Nexgate (by Proofpoint), Greenplum (by EMC), DynamicOps (by VMWare) and Bina Technologies (by Roche).
