Scutify, a NYC-based social network for the finance community, raised $1.5M in funding.
The round valued the company at $25m. Backers included Jake Fawcett, among others.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its user base, continue developing its live trading platform and grow Premium Scuttles, a new platform for investors, traders and money managers to sell monthly or yearly content subscriptions to a receptive finance community.
Led by Cody Willard, co-founder and Chairman, Scutify provides investors and traders with a social network for financial chatter, news, analysis and live trading around stocks, commodities and Forex.
Through a partnership with Tradier Brokerage, Scutify currently allows users trade stocks and options directly from its website and mobile apps.
The product is available on iOS, Android and the web while Scutify for Google Glass is currently in beta.
