ChatWork Raises $2.5M in Funding

chatworkChatWork, a Japan, and Sunnyvale, CA-based cloud communication platform for small business and enterprise teams, raised $2.5m in funding.

GMO VenturePartners made the investment.

The company intends to use the funds for product development, hiring talent, and to continue its growth in North America and Europe. ChatWork will also work with GMO Internet Group to build brand awareness and acquire enterprise customers in Asia.

Led by Toshi Yamamoto, CEO, ChatWork provides non-technical, small business and enterprise users with a communication platforms that combines group or individual text, voice calls, video chats, task management, and file sharing into a service that can be utilized both within and between organizations.
ChatWork works in most Web browsers and requires no additional software to install. The mobile app is available on Android and iOS devices.

It is currently used by over 66,000 companies in 183 countries across a wide range of industries (e.g., technology, marketing, academic, legal, healthcare, etc.).
