Closeup.FM, a Knoxville, TN-based software that facilitates pop-up events powered by fans, received an investment from Angel Capital Group.
The amount of the investment was not disclosed.
The capital will allow the company to continue to develop the platform an expand operations.
Led by Nathan Fray, CEO, Closeup provides do-it-yourself tools, ticketing, and free venue network to book concerts directly with their fans. Musicians can convert their online currency (likes, follow, pageviews, plays, etc.) into profitable offline businesses.
The Closeup.fm beta went live in April 2014, and subsequently released a full-featured version of the platform last December.
The company is also developing tools to accommodate “baby bands” that struggle to sell tickets.
