Hedvig, a Santa Clara, CA-based software-defined storage company, closed an $18m Series B funding round.
The investment was led by Vertex Ventures with participation from existing investors True Ventures and Atlantic Bridge. In conjunction with the funding, Vertex Ventures General Partner In Sik Rhee joined Hedvig’s Board of Directors.
The company, which has raised approximately $30.5m to date, will use the funds for global expansion.
Led by Avinash Lakshman, founder and CEO, Hedvig provides a distributed storage platform that accelerates data to value by creating a virtualized pool that provisions storage quickly, scales to petabytes and runs in both private and public clouds.
Customers include Intuit, Dovilo, Van Dijk and Paul Hastings LLP.
