DigitalOcean, a New York City-based cloud infrastructure provider built for developers, closed an $83m Series B funding.
The round was led by Access Industries with participation from Andreessen Horowitz.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its feature set, satisfying the needs of software developers and scaling startups running its distributed applications in production.
Launched in 2012 by Ben Uretsky, CEO, DigitalOcean is a large cloud infrastructure provider for developers building websites and applications. To date, more than 6 million Droplets (cloud servers) have been deployed on the service by more than 500,000 developers.
The company has data centers throughout the world.
