Fuisz Media, a Santa Monica, California-based interactive video company, closed $10m Series A funding.
The round was led by Evolution Media Partners, a joint venture between Evolution Media Capital, TPG Growth and Participant Media, with participation from:
Ross Levinsohn, former interim CEO of Yahoo;
Chris Silbermann, co-founder and president of ICM Partners;
Richard Sarnoff, head of the media and communications group at KKR;
Jon Miller, former chairman and CEO of AOL and News Corp.’s digital media group;
Jon Liebman, CEO of Brillstein Entertainment Partners;
MediaLink;
Modern Times Group;
Luminari Capital;
Lerer Hippeau Ventures;
Michael Lazerow, founder of Buddy Media and chief strategy officer at Salesforce; and
Matt Anderson, chief marketing officer at Roku.
In conjunction with the funding, Ross Levinsohn and Ian Doody, a principal at Evolution Media Capital, joined Fuisz Media’s board of directors.
Led by Justin Fuisz, founder and CEO, Fuisz Media turns videos into interactive experiences, allowing the viewer to touch or click on any object to discover new content. This can include product information, innovative branded experiences, direct links to company websites and the ability to buy the item. The company, which works with advertising agencies and global brands such as Wal-Mart, Microsoft, Victoria’s Secret, Gillette and Target, also has offices in New York and Tokyo.
