Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), a $4 billion venture global capital firm, promoted Eric Ahlgren (@e_ahlgren) as Vice President.
In his new role, Ahlgren will continue to identify entrepreneurial opportunities in promising technology startups.
Since joining BVP in 2013, he has focused his investments on data infrastructure, cloud computing and consumer services, being involved in the firm’s investments in Hadapt (acquired by Teradata), Infinio Systems, OneCloud Labs, Xtime (acquired by Cox Automotive), nToggle, Club W, Scratch and others.
Prior to joining Bessemer, Ahlgren worked in finance as an investor at Summit Partners and an investment banker at Bear Stearns. At Summit, he sourced and executed growth equity and buyout investments in technology-enabled consumer and business services companies, including Snap Fitness (acquired by TZP Capital), Central Security Group, Vivint and Vivint Solar (NYSE: VSLR).
Ahlgren also helped launch Summit Partners Credit Advisors, a business addressing the borrowing needs of middle-market companies, which has since raised over $1.5 billion in its first two funds.
Earlier, he focused on the financial institutions sectors for Bear Stearns.
Ahlgren holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a BA in English from Colgate University.
