Riffsy Raises $10M in Series A Funding

riffsyRiffsy, a San Francisco, CA-based GIF keyboard app creator, secured $10m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Menlo Ventures with participation from Redpoint Ventures, Cowboy Ventures and Signia Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to grow its mobile products and building GIFs and video into the daily language of every mobile user.

Led by David McIntosh, co-founder & CEO, Riffsy is the mobile-first video company behind the GIF and short video communication tool GIF Keyboard, which lets users text, iMessage, Facebook message, Tweet and email GIFs and video from an iPhone’s keyboard. Since launching in September 2014, the app has had millions of downloads, exceeded 4 billion monthly views and has been featured in an Apple Keynote.

The company offers millions of GIFs and has content partnerships with TV networks and movie studios such as Sony, Universal, NBC and 20th Century Fox.
