WhoCanFixMyCar.com, a Newcastle upon Tyne, UK-based digital marketplace for the car servicing and repair industry, raised an equity funding round of undisclosed amount.
Active Private Equity is investing in the company along with industry veteran Sir Trevor Chinn, former Chairman of the AA, Kwik-Fit and the RAC, and currently Senior Advisor to CVC Capital Partners.
The investment will further accelerate the company’s growth and will allow the business to develop and expand its range of services to UK drivers and garages.
Founded by Ian Griffiths and Alistair Preston, WhoCanFixMyCar.com allows drivers to specify a service or repair on their vehicle and receive back detailed estimates for the work required from locally-registered garages.
The user can then select a garage based on location, price, availability or feedback from previous customers.
The platform also provides garages with incremental business, via a no-fee marketing channel.
To date, over 118,000 customers have used WhoCanFixMyCar.com.
