RelayRides, a San Francisco, CA-based peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace, acquired SocialStudio, the developer of mobile apps JumpCam and FADE.
As part of the acquisition, of unisclosed amount, 12 total team members will join the RelayRides team, including seven engineers.
They will help RelayRides accelerate customer acquisition and drive critical areas of the business, including introducing dynamic pricing recommendations for car owners and expanding into new geographies and services. As part of the acquisition, SocialStudio CEO, David Stewart will join RelayRides as Vice President of Business Development where he oversees strategic partnerships that further improve customer experience and member acquisition.
SocialStudio was backed by Trinity Ventures and Google Ventures.
Launched in March 2012 and led by Andre Haddad, CEO, RelayRides is a peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace with a community renting vehicles in over 2,500 cities. The company has raised $53m in venture capital funding from investors including Canaan Partners, Google Ventures, August Capital, Shasta Ventures and Trinity Ventures.
