Vorago Technologies (previously known as Silicon Space Technology), an Austin, TX-based provider of radiation- and extreme heat-hardened embedded systems technology, closed a $10m venture capital funding.
The round was led by New Science Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate organic growth, and fund new product and technology development, expanding microcontroller portfolio and its technology-licensing platform.
Led by Bernd Lienhard, chief executive officer, Vorago Technologies is a fabless semiconductor company with patented solutions that remove the limitations of both radiation and heat-related failures inherent in traditional technology.
The company’s patented HARDSIL® technology can be integrated into the standard silicon manufacturing process to enable components to withstand the most extreme conditions, including temperatures beyond 200°C, while providing exceptional longevity.
Vorago’s microcontroller products are based on HARDSIL and are suited for automotive, industrial, military / aerospace and networking applications.
