Boomtrain, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a marketing personalization platform, secured $12m in Series A funding.
Backers included Sierra Ventures, Cota Capital and Lerer Ventures.
The company, which has raised more than $14m to date, will use the new funds to further advance its platform and to expand its team.
Founded in 2012 and led by Nick Edwards, CEO, Boomtrain leverages machine intelligence to provide a marketing platform that enables brands to automatically create personalized experiences for each individual customer across email, web and mobile apps.
The company currently has more than 100 customers including brands CBS Interactive, The Guardian, and Thrillist Media Group.
