Freshdesk, a San Francisco, California-based provider of customer support software, acquired Frilp, a social recommendation platform that connects users with each other and allows them to recommend products and services.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
With this acquisition, Freshdesk gains a peer-to-peer communication platform and recommendation engine which will enable customers to reach out to businesses and other customers. The technology will be integrated into Freshdesk’s platform to connect customers with the best people to provide the answers they need.
Launched in 2010, and led by Girish Mathrubootham, CEO, Freshdesk provides cloud-based software that allows organizations to support customers through email, phone, websites, forums and social media.
The company, which has a development center in Chennai, India, has 50,000 customers around the world, including 3M, Honda, Hugo Boss, University of Pennsylvania, The Atlantic, and Petronas.
It raised $50M in 2015 and $31M in 2014.
