Acro Aircraft Seating, a Crawley, UK-based aerospace design and engineering company, received a £7.75m growth capital investment.
Business Growth Fund made the minority investment. In conjunction with the funding, Ben Kirby joined the company’s board on behalf of BGF. In addition, Bob Davies, currently Board Advisor to TriVista and an advisor to Wyvern Partners, joined as Non-Executive Chairman.
The company intends to use the funds to invest in design and product development capabilities, strengthen its supply chain and provide additional working capital to fund future order pipeline.
Founded in 2007 by Chris Brady, Andy Lawler and David Starkey- Acro designs and manufactures both airline fixed and reclining seats as well as a recently launched premium economy seat.
Each year, the company manufactures around 25,000 seats at its 50,000 square foot facility next to Gatwick Airport. Customers include Thomas Cook, Frontier and Spirit Airlines.
