Chargifi, a London, UK-based wireless charging network provider, closed $2.7m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Intel Capital, which joined Techstars, R/GA Ventures and Streetcar (ZipCar) founder Brett Akker.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate international deployment plans, to expand the team and to further develop intellectual property.
Led by Dan Bladen, Founder and CEO, Chargifi provides an intelligent wireless charging network that allows venues to enable consumers to wirelessly charge mobile devices. In addition, the platform provides network management tools for venues to control their wireless charging systems and realize a return on their investment. End users can use mobile applications to find their nearest Chargifi location and unlock digital experiences in select locations.
The company, which also has regional offices in New York and San Francisco, has distribution and license partners across Singapore, Hong Kong, India and the United Arab Emirates.
