cogitoCogito Corporation, a Boston, MA-based provider of real-time behavioral analytics for customer engagement, raised $5.5m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Romulus Capital with participation from Salesforce Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its sales, marketing and customer success teams.

Led by CEO and Founder Joshua Feast, Cogito provides real-time software leveraging behavioral voice analytics to delivers instant insights into customers’ levels of engagement for every phone-based interaction, which allows phone professionals to deliver a more engaging and caring customer experience. Its lead application, called Cogito Dialog, aims to improve customer service agent performance by presenting them with real-time behavioral guidance while a specific index, called The Cogito Engagement Score, provides a measure of quality on phone interactions a company has with its customers and help improve customer engagement.
