As we anticipated in September, Rhumbix, a San Francisco, CA-based mobile platform designed for smarter construction sites, secured $6.13m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Greylock Partners, with participation from Brick & Mortar Ventures, UJ Ventures and Ray Levitt, Professor at Stanford University.
The company will use the funds to open up its private beta to interested customers and continue to grow its team. In conjunction with the funding, Jerry Chen of Greylock Partners will join Rhumbix’s Board of Directors.
Led by CEO and Co-Founder Zach Scheel, Rhumbix passively collects data generated from smartphones carried by construction workers, capturing data from the field in real-time to make labor more efficient and providing project developers and management with data-driven insights to improve site safety and save money.
The company has opened its private beta to interested customers via its website at www.rhumbix.com. Customers can access Rhumbix’s core products available on iPhone and Android devices, including: Mobile Timekeeping, a mobile application that uses GPS and customer defined geo-fences to create more accurate records of job-hours worked on projects, and real-time cost code accounting.
