Pypestream, a NYC-based real-time messaging app for B2C communication, raised $2m in seed funding.
Backers included Trevor Harris, international business professor at Columbia University, Scott Henderson, former CFO of The Financial Times, and Rick Sirvatis, CRO of Pypestream and former President of Storyboard Media and GM Mediaworks.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate sales and the continue development of its proprietary technology.
Led by Richard Smullen, CEO, Pypestream provides proprietary technology that securely connects brands with customers using mobile messaging. It aims to offer a customer experience similar to messaging with a friend while providing enterprise grade business features.
The company is currently running a beta program with selected partners and will be extending the opportunity for more companies to sign up when it is publicly launched. Companies can also reserve their name on the platform now.
