RWS, a UK-based provider of intellectual property support services, acquired Corporate Translations Inc (CTi), an East Hartford, Connecticut, USA-based life sciences translation and linguistic validation provider.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition is in line with RWS’ strategy of complementing organic growth with selective acquisition. The company already focuses on the life sciences sector, through its patent translation and filing solutions, and with its separate Medical Translation Division which includes the linguistic validation specialist PharmaQuest.
Founded in 1990, CTi is a leader in managing complex translation projects on behalf of the world’s top pharmaceutical and biotech companies and their Clinical Research Organisation partners.
Led by Andrew Brode, Chairman, RWS Group is a global leader in language services, employing over 600 staff worldwide. It provides intellectual property support services and high level technical translation and localization services for clients in the engineering, electronics, pharmaceutical and life sciences, chemical, legal and financial industries.
