Shop.Co, a San Francisco, CA-based developer of a browser extension that allows consumers to buy online via a smart button, raised an additional $2m in seed funding.
Backers included angel investors, Silicon Valley Bank, Commerzbank, Seed Capital Dortmund and Tripos.
Led by Jay Habib, CEO, Shop.Co offers consumers a personal Buy Button that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to compare and automatically complete any purchase transaction on any website, without any prior technology integration with the retailer. Shoppers browse online as usual, and add products they want to their personal Shop.Co universal cart. From there, Shop.Co’s buy button takes over and completes the rest of the purchase transaction from the retailer.
The company has just launched the tool in public beta as a browser extension on Chrome with Firefox and Safari available soon.
