ShopandBox, a Melbourne, Australia-based personal shopping startup, raised US$704k in seed funding.
Backers included 500 Startups as well as a group of angel investors from CMY Ventures and Waic Investment Holdings Limited.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations into Spain, Portugal and Nordics.
Co-founded in November 2013 by Xin-Lung Tai, Rebecca Chia, and Louis Tan, ShopandBox provides a peer to peer service that connects shoppers with boxers (personal shoppers) based on shopping interests and geographical location.
The platform currently has boxers in more than 20 countries (including US, South Korea, Japan, France, and United Kingdom) who help its base of shoppers from more than 100 countries shop like a local anywhere in the world.
