Umbel, an Austin, Texas-based provider of a customer data platform, raised $20M in Series B financing.
The round was led by Cielo Private Equity with participation from other new and existing investors. In conjunction with the funding, Lisa Harris, Managing Partner of Cielo Private Equity, joined Umbel’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand sales and marketing efforts, to accelerate technical innovation and examine potential acquisition opportunities.
Founded in 2010 by HO Maycotte, CEO, Umbel provides a Customer Data platform that allows companies to unify and access their own customer data. By leveraging a digital engine, called Digital Genome®, the company’s solution brings together data across silos and marketing execution systems into one unified, actionable customer platform and allow businesses to make data a valuable asset to improve decision making processes.
