Wellmo, a Helsinki, Finland-based mobile solution to run digital health programs, raised €1m in seed funding.
The backers remained undisclosed.
The company, which has raised €2.1m to date, will use the funds to continue grow operations.
Founded in 2012 as a Nokia spin-off by CEO Jaakko Olkkonen, Wellmo offers a cloud-based mobile solution for health and wellbeing services. By deploying Wellmo, health service providers and insurance companies can run health programs.
The platform connects to health apps and wearable devices, as well as providers’ IT systems to allow health tracking, health checks, video calls, appointment booking and claims processing.
It is used by service providers in Finland, Sweden, Netherlands and South Africa. In addition to clients such as LocalTapiola, Arbo Unie, MealLogger, Cuckoo Workout, and Duodecim, Wellmo has partnered with health technology unit of Garmin and with Tieto, to expand its reach.
