ChargeItSpot, a Philadelphia, PA-based provider of cell phone charging stations for retail chains, casinos, hospitals, shopping centers/malls, universities, stadiums and other indoor public venues, closed $5.26m Series A funding round.
Backers included Robin Hood Ventures, SeedInvest and SoundBoard Angel Fund, and other retail and financial investors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its sales and client services teams and invest in new technology to further improve its tech-enabled charging kiosks.
Led by Douglas Baldasare, CEO and founder, ChargeItSpot creates customizable mobile phone charging kiosks. Built for retail, the stations feature a touchscreen interface, secure locking capability, promotional opportunities, customizable on-screen messages, and data tracking and reporting.
The company currently has installations in 18 states and two countries in retail and luxury retail stores, casinos, hospitals, shopping centers/malls, universities, stadiums and other indoor public venues.
Clients include Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Staples, Under Armour, Bloomingdale’s, Westfield Malls, PREIT Malls and Bergdorf Goodman.
