Doctena, a Luxembourg-based medical booking platform, raised €4.5m in debt and equity funding.
The backers were not disclosed.
The company plans to use the capital for European expansion, firstly in Switzerland.
Founded in 2013 by CEO Patrick Kersten, Doctena is an online platform for patients to find practitioners and organize an appointment with them within 24 hours. The system leverages geolocalization to optimize its performance and allow the patient to launch his search for practitioner on the basis of criteria of proximity and specialization. It also features an online agenda as well as confirmation messages, sync with Google agenda, SMS and email reminders).
The company also has offices in Brussels, Belgium, and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
