StuDocu, an Amsterdam, The Netherlands-based edtech startup, raised €1.35m in funding.
Backers included Peak Capital and Point Nine Capital.
The company will use the funds to expand abroad.
Co-founded in 2013 by Jacques Huppes, Marnix Broer, Lucas van den Houten and Sander Kuijk as StudeerSnel, StuDocu is a website where students can exchange their study documents with each other. Over 500.000 users can share summaries, lecture notes, formula sheet or assignments, which are easy to upload and be placed on the website.
Each document gets listed under a educational institution, study and course, so that users can be sure that it’s relevant for them. A rating system filters out the best documents.
Beyond sharing, the platform allows users to start a discussion with other users, send personal messages to each other, create a personal outline of their study per period and study year as well as to buy and sell second hand studybooks.
