Locus Health (formerly known as Broad Axe Care Coordination), a Charlottesville, VA-based provider of Remote Patient Care Management programs, completed a $4m Series B venture capital funding round.
Backers included University of Virginia Health System, Charlottesville, Va. (UVA) and Rothman Institute, Philadelphia.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations throughout the healthcare industry nationwide.
Kirby Farrell, CEO, Locus Health delivers clinician led, technology enabled remote patient care management services on behalf of or in collaboration with providers. It now supports all Medicare readmission penalty conditions at UVA, including acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, total joint replacement, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, coronary artery bypass graft, and stroke.
