Oak HC/FT, a Greenwich, Conn.-based venture growth-equity fund investing in healthcare information and financial technology companies, appointed Ezekiel “Zeke” J. Emanuel as Venture Partner.
He will bring his expertise around the American healthcare system to advise the firm as well as current and potential partners, including entrepreneurs and portfolio company executives.
Emanuel was an oncologist, an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and then Chair of the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health.
Since 2011, he has been at the University of Pennsylvania serving as the Vice Provost of Global Initiatives, the Chair of the Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy, as well as the Diane and Robert Levy University Professor, where he will continue to serve in all roles.
From January 2009 to January 2011, Emanuel served as a special advisor on healthcare in the Office of Management and Budget, has written over 250 academic articles and numerous books, and is a contributor to the New York Times.
