Silvercar, an Austin, Texas-based car rental and shared mobility company, raised $28m in Series C funding.
The round was led by Audi, with participation from existing investors Austin Ventures and Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook. In conjunction with the funding, Audi North America President Scott Keogh will be joining Silvercar’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its airport car rental business and expand to new markets nationwide.
Led by CEO Luke Schneider, Silvercar provides an airport car rental service offering only silver Audi cars in several markets in the U.S. (LAS, SFO, DEN, LAX, MIA, PHX, DFW, DAL, AUS, FLL, ORD and NYC).
As part of the partnership with Audi, the companies will now work together to develop Audi Shared Fleet, a solution for businesses looking to provide accessible transportation to their employees on corporate campuses.
