Swiggy, a Bengaluru, India-based restaurant delivery startup, raised Rs 235 crore (approx. $35m) in Series C funding.
Backers included Norwest Venture Partners, SAIF Partners, Harmony Partners, Accel Partners, RB investments and an unnamedĀ investment firm.
The company is using the funds to continue to develop the technology platform and expand operations.
Co-founded in 2012 by Sriharsha Majety, Nandan Reddy, and Rahul Jaimini, Swiggy is an online and mobile food delivery platform startup. Its own fleet of delivery people currently operates from a over 5,000 restaurants in eight cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, New Delhi, and Chennai.
