Athentek, a Taipei, Taiwan-based developer of smart location technologies, raised $7M in Series A financing.
The round was led by Foxconn with participation from Testrite Group, CSVi Capital, MediaTek Inc., and others.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its design and research teams in the U.S. and Taiwan, while continuing to grow its business development capabilities internationally.
Led by CEO Yi-Hsiu Wang, Athentek offers Circo, a family of smart wearable devices to keep people in a close-knit circle. Circo is available now in csl mobile retail stores in Hong Kong, with partners in other countries to be announced shortly.
