Victory Park Capital (VPC), a Chicago, IL-based investment firm focused on private middle market debt and equity investments, appointed Upacala Mapatuna as new chief investment officer.
Mapatuna bring more than 20 years of financial industry experience and over 15 years of investing experience to the firm. As CIO, she will sit on VPC’s investment and management committees and be involved in overseeing current and future funds.
Mapatuna was previously a managing director at Goldman Sachs and a member of the Alternative Investments and Manager Selection group. In addition to her 12-year career at Goldman Sachs, she has held various positions in the investment industry, including at Mill Road Capital, a private equity firm focused on investing in undervalued public market micro-cap companies, Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm, and Lazard Capital Partners, the private equity affiliate of Lazard.
Mapatuna began her career at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and holds a bachelor’s degree from Williams College.
