Cisco (nasdaq: CSCO) acquired Synata, a San Francisco, CA-based enterprise cloud search engine.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Led by Pat White, CEO, Synata enables users to find files, emails, contacts and other information both on-premise and cloud-based applications from one platform.
Following the acquisition, the company has terminated all services as of March 6th, 2016 as the team and technology transition to join Cisco’s Collaboration Technology Group to enhance how customers can search rooms and content within Cisco Spark, its business collaboration service.
Cisco Spark is built on the Cisco Collaboration cloud and enables customers to message, meet, or call anyone, anywhere, and anytime. Over the past year, Cisco’s Collaboration team has continued to innovate on Cisco Spark, delivering new features and developing search capabilities.
