Comparably, a Santa Monica, CA-based HR startup, raised $6.5m in funding.
The round was led by Crosslink Capital with participation from Upfront Ventures, Lowercase Capital, Alpha Edison, Crosscut Ventures, Ludlow Ventures, Cornerstone OnDemand, 500Startups, Pritzker Group, Rincon Venture Partners, Accelerator Ventures, BAM Ventures and David Sacks.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand the platform.
Founded by serial tech entrepreneurs Jason Nazar, George Ishii, Yadid Ramot and Michael Sheridan, Comparably has just launched a compensation and culture data platform to understand employees’ value and needs.
Focused on the tech industry to start (soon expanding), the platform uncovers what exact salaries employees in similar environments are making, details their culture experiences at work and connects workers to discuss issues around pay and perks.
The company is also launching expert research and editorials on its new blog, TalkPay.
