eSports Hero (ESH), a New York City-based eSports company, raised $1M in funding.
eSports Mogul – an Australian based eSports investment company, made the investment.
The company intends to use the funds to further expand its compliant, skill-based online tournament platform.
Founded in 2015 by James Heldridge (CEO), Chris Gonsalves (CFO) and David Krbec (CTO), eSports Hero offers gamers of all ability levels the opportunity to play for real cash and prizes in head-to-head matchups. Viewers can watch ESH tournaments globally 24×7 and get involved by crowdfunding prize pools in support of their favorite players.
In conjunction with the funding, the company added Andrew Schneider, a veteran in digital entertainment and former Live Gamer, Sony Pictures Digital and NBC executive who joins ESH as Board Director and co-founder He joined Gernot Abl of eSports Mogul on eSports Hero’s Board.
