Hearshot Inc., a Toronto, Canada-based developer of a waterproof voice communication device for action sports, raised $550k in seed funding.
Backers included a consortium of international tech investors from Canada, US & Singapore.
The company intends to use the funds for product finalization and launch later this year.
Incorporated in 2015 by Bart Lipski and Sebastian Koper, Hearshot is a hardware company working at the intersection of wearable technologies and action sports. Their debout product, the Hearshot communicator, is a waterproof voice communication device for action and extreme sports, which leverages wireless and audio technology. Hearshot allows sportsmen/women to connect by voice with friends in real-time, ask others for help in case something happens, stay connected with an instructor for improved coordination, etc.
The company currently has a team of 3 engineers and a board of advisors, including Chris Fry.
