Rocksbox, a San Francisco, CA-based shopping service for women to buy jewelry, raised $8.7m in Series A funding.
Backers included Matrix Partners, KEC Ventures and SignalFire.
The company, which has raised over $10m in total funding to date, intends to use the funds to expand operations. It is hiring.
Led by founder Meaghan Rose, Rocksbox is a membership-based shopping service to buy jewelry. Women can take a style survey and add items to a Wish List. Each piece is then hand-selected for them based on their style and specific requests.
Every set has 3 pieces of designer jewelry, worth an average of $200 per set and members can wear, return or purchase the items inside.
