Cloud9 Technologies LLC, a NYC-based voice trading communication provider for financial firms and institutional traders, closing an initial investment round of undisclosed amount.
Backers included J.P. Morgan, ICAP, and Barclays, who are also customers.
The company intends will enable the company to grow its business to meet industry demand.
Launched in 2014 by Jerry Starr, CEO, Cloud9 replaces traditional telephone-based trading hardware (turrets) with a cloud-based, real-time voice communications platform for the trading community while adhering to compliance and security standards required by financial professionals.
The solution, built on WebRTC and supported by Amazon Cloud Infrastructure, is currently used by more than 2,000 traders at 350 top brokerages, sell-side firms, and tier one banks in 21 countries.
