Electric Imp, a Los Altos, CA-based IoT platform that securely connects devices to advanced cloud computing resources, closed $21m in Series C funding.
The round was led by Rampart Capital with participation from Redpoint Ventures.
The company, which has raised $43m to date, intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, development, and global adoption of the platform by enterprises in commercial and industrial markets.
Founded in 2011 and led by Hugo Fiennes, CEO, and Oliver Hutaff, CFO/COO, Electric Imp offers an Internet of Things platform that securely connects devices with advanced cloud computing resources. Its solution features fully integrated hardware, OS, security, APIs and cloud services to enable innovative commercial and industrial applications and empower manufacturers to manage and scale their connected products and services to millions of users.
In addition to technology firm Pitney Bowes, the company provides connectivity solutions to a diverse array of commercial and industrial customers in energy and resource management, health and fitness, industrial light equipment and HVAC systems.
