Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) acquired MetaMind, a Palo Alto, CA-based developer of deep learning technology to simplify, improve and automate decision making.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Founded by CEO Richard Socher, MetaMind will now be integrated into Salesforce services to offer customers AI solutions with capabilities that further automate and personalize customer support, marketing automation, and other business processes. It will extend the CRM giant’s data science capabilities by embedding deep learning within the Salesforce platform.
Following the acquisition, MetaMind’s products will be discontinued on May 4 for unpaid web users. For monthly recurring users, the access will be discontinued on June 4.
