Publishing house Editoriale Domus made a minority investment in WeBeers, a Milan, Italy-based ecommerce platform for artisan beers.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
It is known that Editoriale Domus acquired a 10% stake from Milan listed business incubator Digital Magics (AIM Italia: DM), which decreased its shareholding in WeBeers from 40% to 30% as a result of the transaction but reinvested the sales proceeds in the company.
WeBeers will leverage the investment to conduct brand awareness initiatives in partnership with Editoriale Domus and expand operations opening dedicated portals in the UK and German markets.
Co-founded by brothers Alberto Maria and Giammarco Maria Gizzi, the company operates an ecommerce platform that allows consumers to buy beers online at discounted price and receive them within 48 hours. The platform also offers the “Party Beer Box”, dedicated to university students, and features a content section to discover the best beers and their particular characteristics.
WeBeers will soon launch subscription packages to allow customers to periodically receive a selection of the best artisan beers at a discounted prices and delivery-cost free.
