EdCast, a Mountain View, CA-based knowledge network for enterprise and personal learning, is to acquire Sales University, a Seattle, WA-based creator of a sales training app.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Founded in 2011 by Kalpit Jain, CEO, funded by angel investors and grew out of Microsoft Ventures Accelerator, Sales University provides such customers as Google, Samsung, and Snapdeal with over 300 mobile apps for learning and training for iOS, Android and Windows. They are currently used by over 100,000 salespeople.
Led by Karl Mehta, Founder & CEO, EdCast is a knowledge network built to educate individuals and organizations via daily curated & contextual bite-size insights (SmartBitesTM) and live access to influencers and subject matter experts. EdCast Knowledge NetworksTM powers social, mobile and cloud-based informal learning for world-class institutions, enterprises, governments and nonprofits to enable millions to become lifelong learners.
The acquisition comes a month after the company announced a $16m Series B round of funding led by GE Asset Management and Softbank Capital.
