uSens, Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (ARVR) developer of natural hand-and-head tracking technologies, raised $20m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Fosun Kinzon Capital with participation from returning investor Maison Capital and new investors Great Capital, Fortune Capital, Oriental Fortune Capital, iResearch Capital, and Chord Capital as well as ARM Innovation Ecosystem Accelerator.
The company intends to use the funds to launch in 2016 its 26DOF (degrees of freedom) hand tracking and 6DOF head tracking tools.
Founded in 2013 by Anli He, CEO, and Yue Fei, CTO, uSens leverages machine learning and computer vision techniques to provide hand and head position tracking technologies for naturally interactive, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality experiences that do not rely on wired controllers or peripherals.
