ff Venture Capital, a NYC-based venture capital firm, has launched a new opportunistic fund.
According to a regulatory form filed with the SEC, ff Select Opportunity Fund, L.P. is seeking to raise $150m in an effort which for the firm follows the recent close of a nearly $54m fourth fund.
The document lists partners Alex Katz and John Frankel as people related to the offering. The fund will probably focus on making follow on investments in existing portfolio companies.
Founded in 2008, ff Venture Capital invests in the seed- and early-stage funding rounds of UAVs, smart locks, cloud-based security, machine learning, enterprise software and crowdfunding companies. The firm operates via five partners (Katz, Frankel, and David Teten, Adam Plotkin and Michael Faber) and an acceleration team of investment and operations professionals who help founders develop products, target markets and fuel growth. Since founding, ffVC has invested in approx. 80 companies.
