Tapp Commerce, a Turku, Finland-based commerce platform and mobile application provider, raised an additional $9m (AUD$12m) in venture capital funding.
The funding was coordinated by Amma Private Equity out of Australia.
The company, which has raised $12,9M in total, intends to use the funds to expand into Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, launch in Myanmar by the end of 2016, to make consumer acquisition efforts, and to evolve its platform services.
Led by Warren Sample, CEO, and Tapio Järvenpää, COO, Tapp Market gives people without bank accounts the opportunity to buy goods and services online via extensive mobile point of sales agents (micro entrepreneurs) network in emerging markets.
Tapp Market is currently available for Android devices and is used 30.000+ sales agents and has served nearly 3.000.000 buyers in South East Asia.
Founded at the end of 2013, the company currently has 77 empoloyees.
