Smartkarma, a Singapore-based collaborative marketplace for Asian investment research and analysis, closed a $4.7m second strategic funding round.
Backers included Wavemaker Partners, Jungle Ventures, an arm of the Singapore government, an investment group led by Mr. Koh Boon Hwee, former Chairman of Singapore Telecommunications, as well as several industry leaders such as Mr. Tan Chin Hwee.
The company, which has raised $7.5m in total to date, intends to use the funds to further expand its investment research offering.
Led by Raghav Kapoor, CEO and Co-Founder, Smartkarma is an independent financial research platform for market participants to create, distribute and consume investment insights. Officially launched from closed beta in April 2016, the solution combines intelligence from analysts, academics, data scientists and industry experts in a collaborative marketplace to allow investors to improve efficiencies, enhance returns, and optimize their research spend.
It is currently used by 140 global professional institutions.
