Indian Edtech Startup Cuemath Raises $4m in Series A Funding

cuemathCuemath, a Bengaluru, India-based edtech startup, raised $4m in Series A funding.

Backers included Sequoia India and existing investor Unitus Seed Fund.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its math learning programs within India and other international markets.

Led by Manan Khurma (CEO), Anushray Gupta (CTO), Akshay Kumar (COO) and Nikhil Pawar (Head of Curriculum), Cuemath is a fast growing network of math learning centres in India offering a math and logic program designed by alumni of top institutes around the world. The company’s distribution model focuses on economically empowering highly-educated, skilled women, across age groups, making them part of a skilled workforce while giving them the flexibility of working from home.
To date, Cuemath has signed on over 1,200 teachers (from a pool of over 25,000 teachers who have applied to be a part of the network) with plans to get to 5000 teachers by March 2017.
