Nielsen has completed the acquisition of Repucom, a Stamford, CT-based sports measurement, evaluation and intelligence company.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Founded by Paul Smith, Repucom provides a logo recognition and media monitoring technologies that measure more than 5.3m hours of content and 1.1m interviews per year. Combined, these attributes have established the company as a leading global provider choosen by more than 1,700 rights holders, brands, agencies and broadcasters.
The acquisition – which includes all operations, data, advanced analytic IP and tools, and ongoing client work – will expand Nielsen’s sports offerings globally.
As a result of the deal, Nielsen clients will use Repucom’s methodologies including its QI Media Value, which measures the quality of brand exposure based upon a proprietary method that considers size, duration, location and number of concurrent brands seen.
